About Kevin Garcia de Paz

I’m Kevin, the person behind WorkCompByState. I’m not an insurance agent, broker, or lawyer, and I don’t work in the insurance industry. I started this site as a personal project, which I run from Spain, because I noticed how hard it is to find clear, simple answers about workers’ compensation. The rules change from state to state, and the official information is often scattered across agency websites written in legal language.

My goal is simple: put that information in one place, explain it in plain English, and always point you to the official source so you can check it yourself.

How I work

Every article is based on official sources: state workers’ compensation agencies, the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA, the IRS and the NAIC. Articles list the sources they are based on, and the state guides show the date they were last checked against those sources.
I don’t sell insurance and I’m not paid by insurance companies. There are no affiliate links on this site.
I review the state guides when laws change, and at least once a year.
If you spot an error, email me at contact@workcompbystate.com. I review every correction request within 5 business days.
